Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need special equipment? You will need a DVD-ROM reader on your computer that can read the "DVD-R" format. Be careful: DVDs are different from CD-ROMs. They hold ten times as many files, but are a newer format. The disk reader on your computer will be labeled for DVDs if it can handle them. It is possible to buy an external drive that can read and write DVDs of all formats for about $100.
My computer can't read DVDs and I can't upgrade. What now?
It's possible to get the files on CD-ROMs as a special order for an additional charge. See "More Help" below.
I have what seems to be a DVD drive on my computer, but the DVD is not recognized as such, and the computer won't read it.
The DVD is in the "-R" format. Some older DVD readers cannot read this format, although it is said to be the most supported. You will need to either upgrade your DVD reader or get the CD-ROM version of the DVD. See below.
